Welcome to El Cafesito By Mexicanada — a vibrant, family-owned Mexican café tucked into Edmonton's historic Old Strathcona neighbourhood, just steps from Whyte Avenue. Opened in early 2026, our café was born from a deep love for Mexican coffee culture, street food and the warmth of a Mexican kitchen at home. From your first sip of Café de Olla, our goal is to bring a little corner of México to Edmonton.
Our menu is a celebration of authentic Mexican flavours — traditional Café de Olla brewed with cinnamon and piloncillo, espresso-based drinks, rich Mexican Hot Chocolate (Choco-latito), and a kitchen of beloved street food and pan dulce. Guests return for our signature chilaquiles, street tacos, burritos, slow-cooked tamales, gorditas de nata and freshly baked conchas — every dish rooted in family recipes and prepared with care.

" Such a great New Mexican Cafe. The owners are an awesome friendly couple who are trying to bring Northern Mexican cuisine to Edmonton. A regular staple for us will be their chilaquiles. These might be the best I've had. All the sauces and salsa's are homemade. This is just off Whyte but absolutely worth walking a block to try. Nice selection of coffees and well priced. "
